S&S: What is your favourite film soundtrack music and why do you like it so much?
"E.T. (1982) - John Williams - because I was Chairman of the panel when it won the BAFTA award and I persuaded everyone else on the Jury."
S&S: In what ways does music best enhance a film?
"When it's unnoticed"
S&S: Which film either has music that you wished you'd written or is one you would like to rescore and why?
"I wish I'd written the music to Easy Rider (1969) because I could have played skiffle guitar on it."
