David Lean's unrealised films
David Lean completed only sixteen feature films, but his filmography could have been quite a bit longer. His unrealised projects range from adaptations of Out of Africa and Empire of the Sun that he eventually passed on to others, to such tantalising possibilities as a film about space exploration, as well as collaborations with Arthur C. Clarke and Dennis Potter that sadly never came to fruition. Some projects however came much closer to realisation.
